In A Different World…

6 08 2008

Very long time no post…

Sorry to all my friends back on Khaini, I felt like I just left you guys without a word.
I pretty much got suckered back into World of Warcraft. I tried to start over as a Blood Elf Warlock, which only stopped at lv29… Windslash of Shandris realm.

Then I realized it was my desire to reach lv70, the highest level currently possible in the game. I picked up where I had left off, Spiketality of Dalvengyr realm, a lv65 that I didn’t touch for nearly a year. I made it to 70, and discovered that it was a whole new game. Being at lv70 wasn’t enough; you had to get properly geared or settle with getting trampled over. There are gear sets for PvE (Player vs. Enviroment) as well as PvP (Player vs. Player), both which take a very huge time investment to obtain.

It’s not like Maple where you can just horde up mesos to buy everything you want. The best PvE gear requires a lot of raiding, starting from small 5-man instances up to 25-man raids. Of course, real life does not permit me to revolve my world around a raiding schedule, so that option was not for me.

The real fun came from the PvP enviroment – although getting geared for that is also a tough situation. Working your way up by fighting other players who are probably better geared than you is not always fun. The good thing is that it gives you more experience against other class-specific encounters.

Well I don’t know what else to say, but consider this a postcard to all my Khaini friends.

Fifty Days Later…

7 05 2008

Hmm looks like an update is long overdue.

A lot has happened over the past 50 days. For starters, I’m currently lv 98 and 70%. Thanks to gobies and a 2x exp coupon, I was able to push myself through from lv 82. I didn’t use the 2x exp coupon to it’s fullest, but it’s better than nothing. Current skill build is maxed Arrow Rain, maxed Strafe, 6 Puppet, and 13 Silver Hawk.

I bought a Zhelm back in April from NPixPlix for 70m. They have their runs super early in the morning, because it was like 5am for me. Funny thing was, I was trying to stay awake up until maybe 2 hours before the run was scheduled. I thought I’d lay down to take a quick nap, only to wake up about 8 hours later and realized I had missed my run. All was good, as I just went on the next day’s run. For the 1st run, there were about 3 VIP buyers but I was allowed to come along as the 4th person. 200 cheese and about 30 minutes later, only 3 helms dropped so I had to go along the 2nd run. I was next to loot but there was this one buyer who was supposed to loot after me, except she actually autolooted with a pet despite the rules saying no pet items allowed. That angered me a bit but luckily 4 helms dropped on the 2nd run. The organizers were even nice enough to let me reloot in case my scrolling failed, which it did. I had only brought along 1 30% Helmet for Acc scroll, and of course it failed so I just threw off the helm and picked up another one. In hindsight, I should have prepared myself with a lot more 30s and 70s.

I scrolled several bows about 2 weeks ago, with a 107/3 Fire Arund being my highest and current bow. That was quite an adventure because I had never truly scrolled before, and I feared that I might not make anything useful. It was certainly a nice and pretty much free upgrade from my old 102/4 Blue Hinkel, because after selling back the Hinkel along with 2 other bows I scrolled, I pretty much ended up even on my mesos. From my scrolling experience, the 30% scrolls seem to be based on a lot of luck. As for 70%, one of my friends told me she would rather use a 70% than a 60%, because she would rather see the item break than having a failed useless item taking up her inventory slot. Going by statistics, the 70% did feel a lot safer, even though I managed to break a bow with one. Cheap 70% scrolls are <3.

Lately I’ve been browsing FM in hopes of finding some more equipment upgrades. In no particular order…

Currently using: 10dex Icarus Cape (2)
Looking for: Pink Adventurer Cape, a 4 atk with a decent amount of dex

Previous glove: 10atk 2str 3dex Green Cordon
New upgrade: 10atk 3str 5dex Dark Cordon. Bought for 55m, and sold the old one back for 50m. It’s currently stronger than a regular 11atk glove, and I just simply love the color and def bonus.

Currently using: 1str 8dex Green Wing Boots
Planned upgrade: Facestompers. I’m about 10 steel plates away from forging my own pair, although I feel a bit uneasy about scrolling them.

Stuck at lv98 with my 2x exp gone… it looks like it’ll be awhile before I reach 4th job anytime soon. Probably by the beginning of June maybe?

I’ll update with more pics later.

Finally level 80!
